Our History
PureKing Badminton Academy was founded in Irvine, California by Yunyi Zhu, whose passion for badminton spans decades of national-level competition and international coaching. Recognizing a lack of accessible, high-quality badminton programs in local communities, Yunyi launched the Academy to make the sport more inclusive and impactful for young people.
Since its inception, PureKing has partnered with the Irvine City Government and local schools, trained over 200 students, and hosted numerous community tournaments—made possible thanks to the generosity of donors and the dedication of volunteers.
